Haywood Brings the Love to Norman
As Oklahoma's recruiting has gone more and more national there has been something of a sentiment that the program has lost some of the players that grew up caring about the program; an element that was evident in the Sooners 2000 national championship squad.
It was about that same time that Moore (Okla.) Southmoore three-star tight end Austin Haywood was learning about Oklahoma football and fell in love with the Sooners.
So when he committed to Oklahoma on Monday night he was not only bringing his talents but also his passion for the program to Norman.
"I always wanted to be a Sooner, I've been waiting for this feeling since I was five years old, it feels odd but good," Haywood said.
