Williams' Commit Comes with Odd-Timing
Today Irving (Texas) Nimitz got back to school following the Christmas break, but it was more than a return from the holidays that made it a crazy day for Vikings students. Early Monday evening Eddrick Loften confirmed long-believed rumors that he and Oklahoma had severed ties.
It only took a few hours for high school teammate Damon Williams to rebuild the road between Nimitz and Oklahoma.
The timing is made even more odd with the reality that Williams had been taking his final two official visits this month before making his collegiate decision. The trips were to follow his three previous official visits to Texas Tech, Kansas, and Oklahoma.
"When you know it's time and that's where you want to be you have to make that decision," Williams said. "I thought it was going to be a little bit before I decided but I was just going with the flow and it just happened. There was no point in wasting my time or wasting other people's time and just get on with this."
