Bulldogs overcome windy afternoon practice
In the year that Dan Mullen has been the head coach at Mississippi State he has made use of the Palmeiro Center, the Bulldogs indoor practice facility, a total of zero times.
The reason Mullen likes to prep his team outdoors is simply because that's where the games are played in the elements. MSU went through their second practice of the spring Thursday battling wind gusts up to 24 miles per hour.
"It was a little breezy out here today," Mullen said. "You know when you starting off and getting into the flow of things maybe you are not quite as crisp as you always would be. I wasn't upset, I thought we did a decent job throwing the ball with the wind. Special teams got a little ugly with the wind blowing as hard as it was out here today.
"We've got to play in the wind, snow, rain so it was good to get one in just for our quarterbacks, guys catching the kicks and our receivers adjusting to balls. When you have to play in real windy days it's going to change some things out there."
