Hughes Seeks a Second Opinion
As Oklahoma becomes more and more of a national recruiting threat there is one test they are leaning to pass again and again. The test of dear old 'mom', no matter how much a prospect may like the program and situation of playing for the Sooners a team far from home has to sell the second most important person in any decision process.
In that vein Klein (Texas) Oak defensive end Nathan Hughes is no different than any other prospect, and last weekend during Oklahoma's spring game Hughes said the Sooners did a lot to convince his most important confidante that Norman was the place for him.
"Coach (Bob) Stoops had not met my mom before, it was a time for him to meet my mom. My mom left with only good things to say (about Oklahoma)," Hughes said. "My trip was good, I got to talk to all of the coaches again and got to go with my teammate Max and he ended up with an offer."
