Tidwell remaining patient, focusing on senior season
Dallas Tidwell returned from Ole Miss' senior camp late Saturday.
For the second time this summer, Tidwell had turned heads in Oxford, creating buzz that a scholarship offer might be around the corner.
However, the 6-foot-6, 200-pound quarterback from Gardendale, Ala., hasn't gotten that offer yet. Still, he has confidence he's very much on the Rebels' radar.
"I really like their coaching staff," Tidwell said, adding his parents accompanied him on both trips to Ole Miss and like the program and schools "almost as much as I do.
"They've been very complimentary of me and they've always put me at the front of the line (during drills and one-on-ones). They're asking me to be patient."
Of course, that's easier said than done. Tidwell recently picked up an offer from Memphis and feels confident Troy is planning to extend an offer as well in the near future. Still, Tidwell would love to play in the Southeastern Conference.
"I would love to have an offer from them," Tidwell said, referring to Ole Miss. "(The Rebels would) most likely be my No. 1 if they did."
So Tidwell's plan is to stay patient, focus on his senior season and see what develops.
"What choice do I have?" Tidwell said with a laugh. "I'm ready to focus on the season and get out there and win some games."
Tidwell said he wouldn't rule out signing with a school that was signing another quarterback in the same class. Ole Miss received a verbal commitment from Fulton, Miss., quarterback Maikhail Miller on Monday night.
"That wouldn't be a factor," Tidwell said. "I just want to go somewhere and play football."
