Vegas Video: Valentine rising rapidly after strong July
LAS VEGAS - The Michigan Mustangs 16-and-under team was a force on the circuit this summer because of contributions from a number of talented juniors-to-be, who possess high-major potential. Lansing Sexton's Denzel Valentine was the ringleader of the group that finished up their season going 5-1 at the Adidas Super 64 in Las Vegas.
Valentine was a well-known name in Midwestern recruiting circles prior to his performance in Vegas, but the 6-foot-5 son of Lansing Sexton coach and former Michigan State basketball player Carlton Valentine gained additional notoriety with an outstanding week at the Super 64.
Valentine led the Mustangs in scoring in Las Vegas, highlighted by a 28-point game that included seven made 3-pointers. The Sexton star averaged more than 20 points per game for the Mustangs.
