Dantonio: 'Its Showtime'
EAST LANSING - Michigan State coach Mark Dantonio is pleased that his team made it through training camp without too many injuries and is eager to get his team ready for what he called "show time" during his first weekly press conference of the 2010 season.
After scrimmaging and practicing against each other, the Spartans are eagerly preparing for an opponent. Michigan State beat Western Michigan handily last November, but the Spartans will not take the Broncos lightly after suffering a setback against Central Michigan during the second week of the 2009 season.
Western Michigan has played more Big Ten opponents than any other out of conference school and the Broncos have had recent success including wins over Iowa and Illinois during the last five years.
"It will be a challenge for us, and we are looking forward to it," Dantonio said. "We have a lot of young players playing for us this year. As I have said before, it is a balanced team in terms of experience because we have experience at quarterback and some positions, but we are a young at some positions. It will be a great thing for our young players."
