Players have faith in Addazio
Two days after the struggling Florida offense sputtered through another Saturday and elicited a smattering of boos, the members of the team made available to the media Monday came to the defense of embattled offensive coordinator Steve Addazio.
To a man, they said they've got his back.
"I trust Coach Addazio and his play calling," Gator quarterback John Brantley said Monday.
After six games, the Gators (4-2 overall, 2-2 in the Southeastern Conference) are averaging 323.67 yards per game to rank only 96th nationally in total offense. Additionally, they're 91st in first downs, 87th in red zone offense, 79th in pass efficiency and 73rd in tackles for loss allowed.
