Tulsa Team Report
From one perspective, it looked like the type of game that would have resulted in a Tulsa blowout.
The Golden Hurricane defense held prolific SMU to a season-low 21 points. Tulsa forced two turnovers and didn't commit any.
But thanks to sub par performances on offense and special teams, the Golden Hurricane missed a great chance to nab a Conference USA road victory, falling to the Mustangs, 21-18, in Dallas.
The 18 points was not only Tulsa's lowest offensive output of the season, but it was that by 10 points. Quarterback G.J. Kinne completed less than 50 percent of his passes for the first time all season.
"Offensively, we had dropped passes," coach Todd Graham said. "We had two vertical shots that could have been touchdowns that were dropped. We just had poor execution.
