Hokies extend new 2012 offer
It's been awhile since Virginia Tech has put out new offers, the latest goes to a talented 2012 prospect. What does the newest offeree think of the Hokies scholarship?
"I got the offer on Friday from Coach Newsome, he came by the school and told my coach," Norfolk (Va.) Norfolk Christian School 2012 linebacker Kwontie Moore said. "I was told through him that if I were to come up earlier to a camp they would have offered me, so they decided to do it now."
Moore talked about the Hokies more.
"I honestly thought I wasn't going to get offered by Virginia Tech, now I feel good about it and I'm glad I got offered," he said. "I've been up there just one time for the Nike Camp and the campus is exciting, it's good. It is really a good school, but I haven't really talked to their coaches and I haven't been to a game, but I hope to go sometime soon."
Virginia Tech now joins Virginia and North Carolina as offers out for Moore.
Meanwhile, plenty of other colleges are interested.
"I'm hearing from Michigan, Georgia, Auburn, NC State, LSU, Tennessee, Clemson, Alabama, Florida State, Boston College, Stanford, Connecticut and Penn State.
"I never thought I'd get this kind of opportunity, it's pretty exciting," he said. "I don't have any specific favorites, I'm just taking it all in.
"I just want a college I can get my degree."
Moore has played well this season.
"I feel I'm doing well, I'm not getting as many carries on offense, but that is keeping me fresh for defense," he said. "I'm doing really well there, I've seen a lot of improvement in the aggressiveness on defense for me and the team, we're a whole different team."
