University of Alabama commitment Adam Griffith can't wait to play for the Crimson Tide. TideSports.com caught up with the nation's top kicker for a Q&A.

Q: Why did you choose Alabama?
A: It felt right. I liked Alabama a lot and everything I wanted was there. Nick Saban is a great coach who wins. A big thing for me was the championships; I wanted to go to a place where I could win.

Q: What's the longest field goal you've made?
A: I made a 69-yard field goal in practice last year. My best kick in a game was a 55-yard one.

Q: How does it feel to be the No. 1 recruit at your position?
A: It feels good, but there is a lot of pressure. I get pretty nervous since I'm the top guy. When I'm on the field, I try to have fun. I try to think about what I'm going to do tomorrow or random stuff. It could be what I'm going to eat after the game or anything.

Q: Did you play soccer as a kid?
A: I played until I got to high school.

Q: Why did you quit?
A: I would always twist my ankle, and I got tired of it.

Q: Do you like to hit people on kickoffs?
A: I don't really have the chance since I usually kick the ball to the back of the end zone. There was this one time a guy returned a kick and I saw him coming my way, so I tried to tackle him but he ran me over and I did a back flip. I slowed him down to where someone else could tackle him. It was the most embarrassing thing. The coaches and other players asked if I was all right. I was like 'just leave me alone.'

Q: What is the most dangerous experience you've had?
A: When I lived in an orphanage in Poland. I was in an orphanage from when I was a baby until I turned 13 and got adopted. I hated living with so many people. Other kids would take things from me and stuff; it was a horrible experience.

Q: What's the weirdest thing a coach has said to you?
A: One guy told me I had nice, strong legs. It was definitely weird.

Q: What did you do on your first date?
A: We ate dinner and went to see "Dinner With Schmucks"

Q: Where did you eat?
A: Chick-fil-A. I know it's not the best place to eat on a first date, but we were running late.

Q: Who is your favorite cartoon character?
A: Peter Griffin from "Family Guy" is my favorite. He's so funny. I love that show.
