The loss of 3 year starter Mike Davis and early departure Jereme Richmond leaves a void in returning minutes for the Illini at the power forward or '4' position next fall. The Illini have some players capable of filling the void left by those front court departures, but there are question marks regarding each player, whether it be shooting, rebounding, defense or even just inexperience.
That could lead to a committee approach whereby the hot hand gets the minutes. It's clear that one player will get the first crack at it though, Junior Forward Tyler Griffey. Incoming Freshmen Myke Henry, Mike Shaw, Ibrahima Djimde and Nnanna Egwu are also possibilities. We'll break down what each brings to the table.
