Worthy says ND game is personal
EAST LANSING - Jerel Worthy has no plans to pay homage to the 114-year old rivalry between Michigan State and Notre Dame the way he did the Michigan State-Michigan rivalry via a tattoo depicting a Spartan warrior standing menacingly over a vanquished creature resembling a Wolverine.
But the 6-foot-3, 310-pound junior defensive tackle has been touched by the annual battle for the Megaphone Trophy nonetheless.
"Down there two years ago was my first road start," explained the 6-foot-3, 310-pound third-year starter. "It was pretty personal to me due to the fact that I was on the road in a historical place and that I had to leave with a bitter taste in my mouth ... It is pretty personal to me. I want to go down there and play my best game of the season and just have fun and show out."
