Schilling could be close to an offer
With just a couple weeks left in the college basketball season, Wisconsin is one of the few teams that has not yet finalized its 2012 recruiting class.
One final scholarship remains vacant and it appears Sheldon Jeter, who recently took his official visit to Madison from Sunday to Tuesday, is the top priority. Should the forward from Pennsylvania commit elsewhere, however, the Badgers have the option of banking the remaining scholarship in order to use it in 2013.
The pecking order amongst the current juniors, at least in the eyes of UW's coaching staff, has become more evident in recent weeks. In-state point guard Bronson Koenig has already given an oral commitment while shooting guard Matt Thomas, wing Semi Ojeyele and post Kyle Washington appear to be the top options at their respective positions. Koenig, Thomas and Washington were all on campus for UW's win over Illinois on Sunday.
While the four mentioned juniors all hold offers from Wisconsin the coaching staff continues to stay heavily involved with a number of uncommitted prospects in the 2013 class. One who appears to be on the cusp of an offer as the recruiting process moves forward is Gavin Shilling from Chicago.
