Defense proved impressive at Michigan spring game
The Michigan defense surrendered just two touchdowns among 60+ offensive plays Saturday at the Wolverines' modified spring game, giving the Maize and Blue, and coordinator Greg Mattison, plenty to build on going into the summer ...
Though that's not to say Mattison is satisfied with how his unit performed this spring or in Saturday's scrimmage, played in front of 25,000 fans.
"The thing I would say is we have a long way to go," he said. "In watching from the side, and seeing what I thought I saw, we have to become a lot more physical. We've got to improve a great deal over the summer. The good news is that our staff, and our strength program, believes in working very hard in the summer, and not just lifting weights. So I think we'll make a lot of gains this summer."
