Looking back to Missouri, ahead to Florida
Vanderbilt earned a hard-fought, 19-15 victory over Missouri on Saturday evening for the season's first win. Coach James Franklin talked about that at Monday's press conference, as well as this week's game against Florida.
First Southeastern Conference win of the year is a big one,
Franklin and his players always talk each week on how the Commodores are 0-0 coming into the current week, but there was no doubt that Saturday's road win at Missouri left a mark in a positive way.
First of all, the Commodores finally got to feel something besides snake-bitten after leaving Columbia with a victory. Of the previous seven games that had been decided in the final two minutes, the 'Dores had lost each. This time, Zac Stacy's big third-down run in the game's final moments allowed VU to celebrate a close win rather than give the Tigers a chance for a final, game-winning drive.
