TheWolverine.com analyst Ron Simpkins wasn't exactly satisfied with an 8-4 record this season, including losses to rivals Notre Dame and Ohio State, but he still sees a bright future for the Maize and Blue.

"We probably could have won three more games because the Notre Dame game was right there, the Nebraska game we were in and we were beating Ohio State at the half, but when I look at the future there's not the doom and gloom and the hope and prayer that somehow it will get better," Simpkins said.

"I think we can all definitively look at where this program is going, look at the recruiting, and the coaching in place, and know we're headed in the right direction."
