Lineman Ben Braden expected to move inside
Taylor Lewan's decision to return for a fifth-year senior season was great news for Michigan and its fans, but it had the potential to impact redshirt freshman Ben Braden negatively. On the rise, Braden was the favorite to start at left tackle with a Lewan departure. But all is not lost for the 6-6, 308-pounder.
Braden is expected to move inside, to guard, when U-M opens spring practice in March. He would compete with classmates Kyle Kalis and Blake Bars, redshirt sophomore Chris Bryant and redshirt junior Joey Burzynski for the two vacancies following the graduations of Ricky Barnum (left guard) and Patrick Omameh (right guard).
