Maize N' View: Where would U-M be with Harbaugh?

Jim Harbaugh has established himself as one of sports' great active coaches, leading a dormant San Francisco 49ers franchise to the Super Bowl in just his second season. Before he took the NFL gig, it was widely assumed he would take over at Michigan, and if he had, would the Wolverines be better off than they are now under Brady Hoke?

That was the question posed to me and listeners during Tuesday's The Huge Show, and it's an interesting one to ponder as Harbaugh readies his team to compete with the Baltimore Ravens and Hoke looks to finish off the 2013 recruiting class.

In two seasons, Hoke has compiled a 19-7 record, is 1-1 against Ohio State, 1-1 against Michigan State, 1-1 against Notre Dame and 1-1 in bowl games. He has not yet won a Big Ten championship or advanced to the title game, but he does have a BCS bowl victory on his resume.
