Mark Smith excited about new and experienced linebackers

TheWolverine.com After signing four linebackers in the 2012 recruiting class, Michigan was more selective in 2013, landing just two - four-stars Mike McCray and Ben Geden. The pair will add flexibility to the Wolverines' linebacker corps and beef up the talent quotient.
Linebackers coach Mark Smith said U-M's staff narrowed in on just a handful of prospects they felt fit the bill at the position, and were pleased with the commitments of McCray and Gedeon.
"If you know you're taking four, you're a little more eager to put offers out there but if you're only going to get two, then you offer half as many," he started. "The kids we want we judge not only on football ability but family, character and academics so that when they get to Michigan they have a chance to be successful.
