Monday Morning LB: Low score testament to buy-in
Former Michigan linebacker Obi Ezeh, with us every Monday to offer his take on the previous game, was pleased with the effort of U-M's second- and third-string defenders Saturday and what their performance means about team attitude.
Following the first game, I was impressed to see the Michigan defense hold CMU to nine points and Brady Hoke's undefeated recorded at home stay intact. This offense had averaged 24 points in its last seven games so it was good to see the defense come out active and on the same page.
Giving up nine points in a game indicates that not only are your starters clued in with a mindset to not give an inch, but the second- and third-string guys who get in know what's expected of them and are prepared to do it when given the opportunity.
