Redick ready to score in NBA
The 1994 movie The Specialist starring Sylvester Stallone and Sharon Stone was not a big box office hit despite a lot of pre-release hype from Hollywood. Duke guard J.J. Redick is hoping to revive the role as the specialist in the NBA and have a longer life than the motion picture.
There is no question that Redick leaves Duke as the deadliest scorer in the school's storied program. The All-American finished his career as the best scorer in ACC history, Duke history and 16th all-time in NCAA history.
Redick scored over 40 points three times, two of those games came against tournament teams in Texas and Georgetown.
The Virginia native improved his game over the course of four years and shed a reputation that labeled him as just a shooter. By the time he was a senior, Redick proved he could create more for himself with the dribble, off of screens and driving to the basket.
The NCAA's all-time leader in three point buckets made may have to take the same "prove everyone wrong" road in the NBA.
