Nelson ready for freshman year
Blair Sanderson
HawkeyeReport.com Cleveland signal caller Arvell Nelson will be one of two first-year quarterbacks reporting to camp for the Iowa Hawkeyes this summer. As a senior, the 6-foot-4, 171-pound Nelson threw for 2,500 yards and 33 touchdowns in leading Glenville High School to a 12-1 record last season. Nelson talks about his upcoming freshman year and much more.
Q: When are you heading to Iowa City?
NELSON: It should be around the beginning of August.
Q: Do you think you'll redshirt this year?

Q: What's it going to be like with your high school teammate Derrick Smith at Iowa with you?
NELSON: It's going to be great. I'll be playing with a great safety who can read coverages and hits hard. It should be fun.
