Strong looks to be top player in Mississippi
When the recruiting rankings continue rolling out over the next few months, the top player in Mississippi is most likely to be Ole Miss linebacker commitment Chris Strong.
Strong, perhaps not only the top player in Mississippi, but also among the top linebackers in the country, hails from Batesville, Miss. and attends South Panola High School and appears set to continue a long line of players South Panola has pumped into the SEC, including Strong's uncle, former Rebel linebacker Eddie Strong.
Strong was selected as a Rivals.com pre-evaluation Top 100 prospect after finishing his junior season with 90 tackles, six sacks, three caused fumbles and two fumble recoveries. For his performance, Strong was named to the first team all state team.
