Back in action
At the June 4 Longhorn mini-camp, 19 of Texas 21 commitments were on hand to work out. Waller running back Cody Johnson was one of two unable to attend, but the talented playmaker couldn't waste a chance to showcase his talents and work out with his future position coach.
With that in mind, Johnson attended Texas' second mini-camp, held on June 11, taking part in all of the workouts and enjoying every minute of it.
Johnson had been recovering from hernia surgery in recent months, limiting his ability to work out and causing his weight to balloon up to close to 250 pounds after playing at 225 as a junior. He weighed in at 236 at the Texas camp, and he's determined to get to the 230 or 225-pound range before his senior season begins.
As for his performance at the event, Johnson said he feels like he performed well, but there were some things he could have done better.
