McDevitt's Berry begins classes
After a heavy recruiting season, Bishop McDevitt defensive back Aaron Berry has officially begun his days as a Pitt Panther. Berry, who enrolled in summer classes this week, took time to speak with the Pantherlair, and is excited about the start of his college career. Berry will play defensive back for the Panthers, but caught an 80-yard touchdown pass in the Big 33 game last week, sparking Pennsylvania's win over Ohio.
Despite beginning the grueling summer conditioning program, Berry added he's excited to finally use the Pitt facilities that drew him to the school.
Berry is one of five players from McDevitt that signed national letters of intent with Division I schools. Quarterback Jeremy Ricker committed to Maryland, running back LeSean McCoy committed to Miami, Fla., but will attend Milford Prep this season. Offensive tackle Tyler Baumbach committed to Syracuse, defensive tackle Jason Kates committed to Michigan, and safety Vince Comasco committed to Army.
