Luck gaining steam
It wasn't so much that Houston Stratford quarterback Andrew Luck made the All-Tournament team at the Texas state 7-on-7 tournament this past weekend.
It was the fact that Luck emerged as the talk of the underclassmen at the tournament after leading an undermanned Stratford team into the championship bracket from a pool that included perennial power Grapevine, Class 4A powerhouse Brenham and the always talented Lufkin Panthers.
The 6-foot-1, 180-pound Luck passed for 1,529 yards and seven touchdowns as a sophomore.
Luck has camped at Texas, Purdue and Oklahoma State this summer and attended a camp at Texas A&M last Sunday.
