Petrino: 'The knee is healed'
With less than three weeks until the start of football practice for the 2006 season, the most often asked question around Louisville is about junior quarterback Brian Brohm's surgically repaired knee.
Brohm, who missed the final two games of 2005 with torn ligaments in his knee, had extensive surgery to repair the knee and is now working to get back into playing shape. According to Louisville head coach Bobby Petrino, Brohm is back.
"The knee is healed," Petrino said Tuesday at the Big East Media Days in Newport, R.I.
While there could be numerous complications with ligament replacement surgery like the one Brohm had in December, Petrino says the most pressing concern recently has been making sure his star quarterback doesn't injure another part of his body during the rehab process.
"The thing I am happy about is that he's healthy. Any time you injure a knee you can start experiencing some problems on the other side of your body," Petrino said.
