Three-star corner Williams names five favorites
Mark Wheeler
InsidetheGators.com After missing two other opportunities to camp at the University of Florida this summer, Jacksonville, Fla., First Coast corner back Jamire Williams finally showed up and apparently did well enough at the Gators Friday Night Lights camp to earn himself an offer. The long time Florida fan spoke with GatorBait.net about the recruiting process.
"They thought I did a good job that night. The coaches said they liked my footwork and my size and quickness," said Williams reported that he measured in at 6-foot, 180-pounds with a 34 inch vertical jump.
He chose not to run the forty at the event. "It was kind of wet and I didn't want to have a bad takeoff and ruin my time. That's why I didn't run."
Apparently, he showed enough going against some of the top receivers on the board to warrant an offer from the Gators.
"I was with my coach on Friday when coach Mattison called him and told him I have a full ride scholarship offer to Florida," said the three-star prospect.
