Harrell and Todd react to transfer news

RedRaiderSports.com Red Raider fans across the country were greeted early this morning with the much welcome news that highly-regarded quarterback Derek Shaw will be transferring to Texas Tech and joining the football program as a walk-on.
Fortunately (perhaps), for head coach Mike Leach, the former four-star recruit will not be eligible to play this season due to NCAA transfer rules. Otherwise, an already close quarterback competition between sophomore Graham Harrell and redshirt freshman Chris Todd might be more competitive.
"You know, we're going to get good recruits every year; it's a good thing for the team," said Harrell.
Todd, Harrell's main competition for the starting job, echoed this sentiment.
"It really just makes everybody better," he explained. "With a bunch of guys here, everybody just ends up pushing themselves a lot more."
