Offense better in the morning
STILLWATER - The Oklahoma State Cowboys went through the first workout of their final two-a-day workouts of the preseason with a two-hour and 15-minute practice on Tuesday morning.
Head coach Mike Gundy was disappointed with his offense's performance on Monday evening after a day off. Following Tuesday's morning workout, Gundy said the offense bounced back nicely and mentioned they had a couple of things working against them in Monday's practice.
"They did better today," Gundy said. "We had a 50-minute delay (due to lightning) yesterday. The defense came out and had a lot better day. The offense was sluggish, but it was better today.
"Plus (there were) quite a few new stunts and twists by the defense, but they did a better job protecting for the quarterback today and taking care of the football."
The offensive unit is close to getting a shot in the arm via the return of one of their top wideouts. Receivers Anthony Parks and Jeremy Broadway are the only two Cowboys to miss time this fall with signifigant injuries. Parks suited up on Monday and Tuesday morning and participated in some drills. According to Gundy, Parks is nearly all the way back and should be there very soon.
