Hog wild defense
Arkansas' starting defense is a fast and experienced crew, and injuries have not been so bad that anyone will be out for an extended period, but as the Southern Cal game nears, defensive coordinator Reggie Herring is searching for some depth.
The defensive line goes at least two-deep at every spot. There are two All-SEC candidates on the interrior, and left end Jamaal Anderson could be a star in the making at 6-foot-6, 280 pounds and excellent speed for an end.
The linebackers have a very good starting crew, with junior Weston Dacus backing up every spot and with some talented true freshmen behind him. The corners took a hit in losing Darius Vinnett, a senior backup cornerback, but there is good depth at corner, and starters Chris Houston and Matterral Richardson have taken their respective games to another level since before the spring.
