Injury picture mixed
A nasty rash of injuries has impacted Cougar practices, but the good news is a number of key players look to be ready to return - or at least ready to go for the season.
The best news is along the D-line where Matt Mullenix sustained a broken right hand and Aaron Johnson went down with a strained hamstring. Johnson is expected to return to practice this week and Mullenix could be back in the mix soon as well. Both are expected to be able to play against Auburn.
Still, not all is great defensively. Tyron Brackenridge's strained hammy has continued to be a concern and despite being held out of practice and scrimmage, Brackenridge still has not healed up.
