Offense still looking for answers
When the dust settled, Florida State was able to eek out a 24-17 win over a pesky Troy team. The good news is that the 'Noles remained undefeated, and that a tight contest against a lower tier Division 1 program wasn't televised outside of pay-per-view. However, there's no escaping the fact that Saturday night was one of the most disappointing performances in recent memory for the Seminoles, especially on the offensive side of the football.
The first half was about as ugly as it could get. The offense was shutout, rushed for only 14 yards, turned the ball over three times, gave up three quarterback sacks and a field goal was missed. A stingy Seminole defense kept it close and FSU went into the locker room down 3-0 amidst a spattering of boos from some of the 77,217 fans in Doak Campbell Stadium.
