Texas plays host to top hoops prospect
North Crowley junior Willie Warren is one of the more coveted prospects in the 2008 class. Programs such as Connecticut, Kansas, Texas and Florida, among others, lining up to recruit the 6-foot-3, 200-pound guard is a clear sign of just how coveted Warren is in the junior class.
Warren, who plays for Team Texas on the spring and summer circuit, took his first unofficial visit this fall when he traveled to Austin with his family on September 10. The Longhorns played host to commit Gary Johnson, 2007 target Anthony Randolph and 2008 forward Luke Babbitt in addition to Warren on that weekend. Warren hoped for more one on one time, but says he will make a second visit in the near future.
Texas is one of many teams recruiting Warren heavily. Other teams are Arkansas, UConn, Memphis, Kansas, Florida, Marquette, Minnesota, Iowa State and Michigan.
