NU Notes: Austin fights through the pain
Nebraska senior offensive lineman Greg Austin has been told before that his football career is over.
After suffering a severe knee injury his freshman season, Austin has continued to beat the odds and play football. Every day is a struggle for Austin, but come game time you always see No. 65 on the field.
In last week's Iowa State game Austin left the game on crutches because of an injury he suffered to his knee. Austin has attempted to practice on both Tuesday and Wednesday this week, but the injury to his knee hasn't allowed him to make it through a full practice.
"He tried to go today," NU head coach Bill Callahan said on Wednesday. "He put pads on and was out for individual then we backed him down. We just felt he needs another day, so we're going to give him one more day and see how he feels tomorrow."
