The good news for the Utes just keeps flowing out of the Lone Star State, where the Utes have managed to make serious in-roads to an already crowded field of recruitment. Already boasting as many as five verbal commitments from Texans, the Utes have received yet another commitment from that state and are one step closer to completing the class of '07.

Derrick Shelby (6-3, 220), a weakside defensive end out of Fort Bend Hightower HS (Missouri City, Texas) has made his verbal commitment to coach Derrick Odum of the Utah Utes.
