Preview: Kansas vs. Winston-Salem State
For the first time since defeating the Toledo Rocket back on December 9, the No. 11 ranked Kansas Jayhawks will take the court tonight to face Winston-Salem State (1-13; 0-0) at 7:00 CST. Bill Self and the Hawks are 8-2 and have won two straight and seven of its last eight games.
Kansas: After struggling off and on for most of the early season, sophomore Brandon Rush got it going against Toledo on December 9. He connected on 6-of-16 field goals and was 5-of-10 from behind the arc. There is no question that Rush was much more aggressive against the Rockets, so look for that trend to continue tonight.
Russell Robinson is passing up too many open looks, so don't be surprised if you see the talented junior look to score the ball more against Winston-Salem State. The biggest key tonight might be the play of Mario Chalmers. His shot just hasn't been falling lately, but having been off for 10 days, look for the perimeter players to be more aggressive and fluid from here on out.
