Filer stays in touch with Notre Dame
Sept. 1 marked the first day that college football programs could mail written offers to junior prospects. Two programs, Notre Dame and Illinois, wasted no time extending scholarship offers to Chicago, Ill., linebacker Steven Filer. The 6-foot-3, 220-pounder would have picked up a third offer if not for a problem with the mail.
Apparently a Nebraska offer was lost in the mail.
Since then, Filer added offers from Stanford, Wisconsin, Virginia and a verbal offer from Michigan as well as interest from Ohio State and several others.
