Wilson switches to Florida
It may be news to some, but Florida Gator head football coach Urban Meyer began his professional sports career as a minor league player in the Atlanta Braves organization. Had he continued down that path, batting .500 would have him well on his way to punching his ticket to Cooperstown. As it is, he decided on college football instead. While a .500 record won't get you garner you much outside of a pink slip, his .500 average over the last week in converting Southern Cal commitments has earned him the adulation of the Gator Nation.
Over the weekend the Gators couldn't turn current Trojan commitment Everson Griffen, but they kicked off this week on a positive note.
On Monday night, not long after telling GatorBait.net that despite visiting Gainesville this weekend, he was firm in his commitment to the Trojans. Later that evening Ponte Vedra (Fla.) Nease offensive lineman James Wilson called Florida assistant coach Steve Addazio and pulled the switch.
