Iowa State leads late push for Anderson
Lawton (Okla.) MacArthur defensive end David Anderson has been an undiscovered commodity, at least among media that cover recruiting. But not among college coaches. So it is that Iowa State had him in for an official visit last weekend and Tulsa coaching staffs - both past and present - are also very intent on getting him on campus and then some.
Anderson is a 6-foot-5, 220-pound athlete who was a key player for MacArthur's Class 5-A state runner-up team in 2006. Lawton Mac head coach Ernie Manning said Anderson is a Division I defensive end, without question.
"He's a good one and college coaches are starting to find him, just in time," Anderson said. "Tulsa had actually offered him a long time and now other schools are involved. It was before Christmas that Tulsa offered and that was Coach Kragthorpe's staff. Now the new staff at Tulsa still wants and him and Louisville is on him now, too, with Kragthorpe over there."
