Behind the scenes on Signing Day
Covering National Signing Day annually is easily the most entertaining event you can wrap in the recruiting business. From final day decisions, last minute switches, to the preparation of featuring the entire class accurately and correctly, it is a significant challenge. In order to highlight the process from our point of view, BearTerritory explains the stories that shaped Signing Day 2007 for the University of California.
After the verbal commitments of Los Angeles (Calif.) Dorsey high school linebacker Robert Mullins and Chandler (Ariz.) defensive end Cameron Jordan near the end of January, it was obvious that Cal 's 2007 recruiting class was in its final stages. While former Butte community college tight end Skylar Curran counted as a 2006 class member, the Bears also added Florida transfer Nyan Boateng before the start of the spring semester.
