O-line will have plenty of fresh faces this spring
Over the next two seasons, Nebraska's offensive line should have a completely new look to it. Head coach Bill Callahan and offensive line coach Dennis Wagner have recruited the type linemen that fit their system and this spring we should get a preview of what the future holds for the o-line.
Redshirt freshmen D.J. Jones, Keith Williams and Cruz Barrett have all patiently waited their turn and this spring will be the first time they are unleashed.
All throughout the regular season Callahan talked about how promising this group of young linemen looked on the scout team units in practice. With the injuries to sophomore Jacob Hickman and junior Mike Huff, along with the departure of Chris Patrick, it should open the door even more for these players to emerge this spring.
Williams, Jones and Barrett all have NFL type builds, and when they are combined with newcomers Jaivorio Burkes and Marcel Jones in the fall and Baker Steinkuhler and Dan Hoch in 2008, the Husker line could really be on it's way.
If any of these three redshirt freshmen show flashes of greatness this spring, there's no doubt Callahan will continue to give them more looks to get them ready for the fall.
