March Madness is here for Arizona
Arizona will take its first step towards a hopeful deep NCAA Tournament run today when the team travels to New Orleans, Louisiana to take on Purdue in the first round of the Midwest Regional.
At 21-11 overall this season, the Boilermakers have won more games than the previous two seasons combined and are excited about their season to this point and will be looking to continue that success through the tournament.
That said, Purdue will not simply be content to appear in a tournament game this season. This team has worked hard for everything they have achieved this season, something that critics have openly said that the Wildcats have been lacking this season.
Though considered less talented, the biggest asset the Boilermakers have is the chip they carry on their shoulders and the sheer will and work ethic necessary to win basketball games, especially on this grand stage.
Two players shoulder the scoring load for Purdue and both are upperclassmen. Junior Carl Landry is the go-to guy for head coach Matt Painter, and rightfully so as he averages 18.9 points and 7.1 rebounds per game.
