Spring Outlook: Defensive Redshirts
Arizona's 2006 recruiting class, on paper, was considered the best in school history. Whether or not it actually turns out to be as good as initially advertised will be proven over the next several years.
This spring, we'll get our first real look at many of those players for the first time, as 15 out of the 22 class of 2006 signees who made it on campus redshirted this past season.
Here's a breakdown of the defensive players from the 2006 recruiting class who redshirted last year.
Lolomana Mikaele, 6-foot-2, 260 pounds, DT:
Considering Arizona's lack of depth at the defensive tackle position, Mikaele is a player the UA will count on in 2007 and despite his youth, that might not be such a bad thing. UA head coach Mike Stoops has spoken openly about Mikaele's promise in Tucson. We're excited to see how he looks this spring.
