Practice Report: Spring rolls on
The weather was heating up on Day 2 of the Alabama football team's spring practice and things certainly didn't cool down any on the field. Head coach Nick Saban kept the intensity level high in a Tuesday practice session that tested the endurance of his new team.
"It didn't go as well as we would like it to," said linebacker Matt Collins following Tuesday's practice. "We're still making a lot of mistakes and a lot of that comes from not knowing what to do and whenever you're not sure, you never go 100 percent because you're tentative. We're also all getting used to this heat out here. I'd say all in all it was a fairly good practice."
The Tide players, speaking to the media for the first time since Saban's hiring, said the first two days of practice have focused mainly on teaching the players the basics of the new systems they'll be running both on offense defense.
