Pullman Practice Report - Day Eight
Filling a void left by a player like Jason Hill is never easy, but this spring, the WSU football team is trying their hardest to do just that.
The passing game was the focal point of Monday's practice, with quarterbacks Alex Brink, Gary Rogers and Cole Morgan throwing passes to the team's receivers.
Despite the sub-30 degree temperature and snowy weather conditions the receivers were able to catch the majority of the balls thrown to them. The receiving trio of Michael Bumpus, Brandon Gibson and Charles Dillon have impressed coaches this spring and it was evident why on Monday.
Dillon displayed his ability to catch the deep ball, connecting with Brink for a deep pass that would have been a touchdown in a game situation.
Gibson hauled in a pass over the middle and was able to turn the gain into an even bigger one, much like he did last season when he led the Cougars in receiving yards with 731 yards.
And finally, Bumpus turned in the highlight of the day with a one-handed, over the shoulder catch from Brink.
