Crunch-time for CJ
The last time Orangebloods.com checked in with 2007 Longhorn running back signee Cody Johnson back in early March, the powerful runner was preparing to run in his first track meet of the season.
Johnson, a bruiser out of Waller, had been rehabbing a shoulder injury since a December surgical procedure and he was hoping that a month of track season would hope him get in top shape and drop of the weight that he gained during the inactivity that came with the injury.
Unfortunately, things didn't work out quite as planned.
"There were certain things that I couldn't do. I couldn't go out there and run. If I would run for a while, my shoulder would start hurting," Johnson said.
The good news for the Longhorns is that the four-star prospect has seen some improvement in his shoulder over the past month, and he still has roughly six weeks before he'll officially report to Austin.
"I've got to work out, I've got to run. More than anything, I've got to run and lose a little weight," Johnson said.
