Beilein lands first 2008 commitment

TheWolverine.com He was hosted by Rutgers transfer and redshirt sophomore Zack Gibson on his May 9-10 visit, and he spent time with redshirt frosh guard K'len Morris and sophomore DeShawn Sims, too. All made enough of an impression on Syracuse (N.Y.) Henninger High seven-footer Ben Cronin to make him realize Michigan was the place he wanted to spend his college years.
But it was the opportunity to play for new head coach John Beilein that proved to be the deciding factor. Cronin committed to Beilein and Michigan over Syracuse Sunday night, then made his intentions known at a 3:00 p.m. presser at his school May 16.
