Early leaders for Dent
The early indication is that the 2009 recruiting class in the Lone Star State appears to be loaded at several key positions, including several blue-chip prospects along the defensive line.
One player that's sure to draw lots of attention is South Grand Prairie's Randall Dent, a talented defensive end/defensive tackle prospect that has been working hard this spring to take his game up a notch.
The 6-foot-4, 269-pound defender has already landed on the mailing lists of several schools, and he said most programs are recruiting him as a defensive end. Schools showing interest include Oklahoma, Florida, Notre Dame, UConn and Texas.
Currently, Dent lists Texas, Oklahoma State, LSU and USC as four schools that have caught his eye, and he knows at least one factor that could eventually weigh into his decision.
